Click here Welcome to the November edition LOVE COMES TO LIFE when we see the image of God in every person - no matter how much age has wearied their body and mind - and honour them with patient care, dignity and respect Have you heard about HYMNsing! Songs of faith that hold us together and help us remember who we are in Jesus.Hymnsing have produced our most loved and known hymns into an easy to access video format which includes the words as they appear in the Lutheran Church of Australia’s hymnbook and supplement. This means that carers and/or children/family members can use these hymns with their elderly parents/family members to sing some of their favourite hymns as they know them from the LCA hymnbook (right number and right number of verse and old wording). With Advent/Christmas just around the corner they have also released a new range of Christmas hymns for us all to enjoy. Visit their website for full details or watch their wonderful introduction video. Shirley Gartner has been a keen player in Lutheran Services Moving Moments. Young and old share joy and wonder An innovative intergenerational program by Lutheran Services in Queensland is tackling the challenge of social isolation for seniors. And the solution is child’s play! In 2019, Lutheran Services in Queensland embarked on another intergenerational initiative to bring together elder citizens and young children in their community ‘to spend time together and share moments of joy and wonder’. The project was aptly named ‘Moving Moments’. “It is a wonderful experience interacting with the young children,” Shirley beams. “The bonds you develop nurturing and encouraging the children as they develop their life skills.” George and Loki Meet Rosemary Rosemary Winderlich is farmer's daughter, teacher, pastor's wife, writer and poet and so much more.

Aged Care & Community Services Governance EnhancementWith this year coming to an end, I would say that most will reflect on 2020 as one of the challenging and most interesting years that we have had yet! I would say that we can appreciate how resilient we actually are as individuals and organisations. All of the organisations worked diligently and put the right measures in place to keep their organisations safe and Covid 19 free. I would like to take the opportunity to thank the organisations for the support that they have provided to each other and to the LCA during these unprecedented times.
