Read more More than 50 people re-considered their local neighbourhoods as mission fields at the 2023 LCANZ Cross-Cultural Ministry Conference in Melbourne on 5–6 May. Conference-goers 'dwelt in the word, worshipped, heard stories of neighbourhood ministry events and missional attitudes' and were 'inspired and challenged' by the presentations. Read more Pastor Peter Hage was installed as the new LCA Western Australia District Bishop at St Johns Lutheran Church in Perth on 7 May 2023 by LCANZ Bishop Paul Smith. Bishop Peter had been elected unopposed for an initial four-year term in the role during the District Convention of Synod in March. Sharon Berridge has been named the 2023 Lutheran Nurse of the Year. The Executive Care Manager of Tanunda Lutheran Home in South Australia’s Barossa Valley, Sharon was recognised with the annual award by the Lutheran Nurses Association of Australia (LNAA) on 12 May, which is International Nurses Day.
