But Peter Gerang Deng, a member at Immanuel North Adelaide, has not forgotten the troubles and tragedies of his homeland of South Sudan. Last Sunday, together with Pastor Mark Worthing, Peter launched the November Family Prayer Challenge. All LCANZ congregations are invited to participate. One such story is that of the historic 1982 handover of five land titles for the former Hermannsburg Mission lease to five Aboriginal clans. With Australian and New Zealand jurisdictions in various stages of 'opening up', LCANZ congregations are getting ready for the implications of directives around vaccinations and other COVID-related challenges. A small Churchwide team is working with District representatives to prepare guidelines for congregations as we move into the next chapter of COVID. Along with other Christians across Australia, we are invited to participate in this annual livestreamed event as individuals, couples or family groups, or even as congregations. We will uphold in prayer our leaders in their demanding roles of service for the common good of our nation and its diverse communities.
