Guide for devotion and prayer LCA International Mission’s 2021 Lenten prayer guide and devotional invites members of the LCA/NZ to join our mission partners as we pray together for God’s global mission. The ‘40 Days’ guide is available in printed and electronic forms. You can download an electronic copy at the LCA International Mission website or request a printed copy by emailing lcaim@lca.org.au or phoning 08 8267 7330. Prayer the focus for Lent Lutheran Tract Mission has produced another Lenten devotional for this year focusing on prayer. ‘Hear our prayer’ is downloadable, read as a flipbook on your electronic device or printed in booklet form. We encourage congregations to print them off for their members, and as an outreach, to add church service times to the back! View or download the booklet Many pastors and other church workers are not accessing their LCA email account. This means they are not finding emails from LCA Churchwide and District offices and no doubt also some from their congregation and community members. This is particularly relevant now because Microsoft has apparently ended its period of grace in relation to the cessation of its automatic email forwarding function, eg from an LCA email account to a private account. This change was implemented by Microsoft to enhance its security measures and to further protect its users. LCA IT notified the church about this change in the LCA eNews of 1 September and provided ways to minimise the impact. All LCA Churchwide and District emails are directed to church workers’ LCA addresses, not to private addresses. Since those people affected by the cessation of Microsoft’s automatic email forwarding service will now not be receiving LCA eNews in their private email inboxes (and thus not receiving this message): For more information, click here. For IT support, email ithelp@lca.org.au The 2021 Festival of Learning is an Australian Lutheran College initiative that brings learning opportunities to members and friends of the church in an easy, accessible and affordable way. You can attend in person or online and join one session or attend a week’s worth. Appropriate internet download speed is required to participate online, but age, location or previous education are not barriers to being involved. All are welcome! Book now The Lutheran World Federation (LWF), of which the LCA is an associate member, is conducting a global survey on ‘being Lutheran’. Any member of the LCA/NZ is welcome to complete the online questionnaire, which can be accessed here. LWF has also produced a companion discussion guide. Submissions to the survey will be received until 31 March 2021. Delegates to the LCA's Convention of General Synod in 2018 will be asked to vote in a postal ballot ahead of this year's Convention. Ballot papers must be returned in the prepaid supplied envelope by the postmarked date of 26 March 2021.
