We'll be back again on 2 February 2021. Celebrating Christmas 2020 Christmas may be a little different this year, but the good news for all people is still at the heart of Christmas, no matter how and where we celebrate. The Commission on Worship has prepared a range of extra resources to help you worship as a congregation in person or online, or as a household. On the Worship Planning Page you can find:
Wherever you are this Christmas, may God fill you with his love, hope, joy and peace as we celebrate the birth of Jesus! Bishop John's Christmas message '2020 has been a complex, confusing and sometimes difficult year. Our reactions have been equally mixed – fear, frustration, anger, relief, grief, selfishness, pride, joy and disappointment, among others ... You could say that our bubble of invincibility has burst ...' DIGITAL EDITION AVAILABLE NObrand-new Digital Edition of The Lutheran makes a great gift. CLICK HERE to subscribe (either print edition or digital or both) or to buy a subscription as a gift. The receiver of the gift will receive immediate login access to full editions of The Lutheran. HymnSing for Christmas We are excited that our collection of Advent/ Christmas hymns is now available at HymnSing. Families, individuals and communities are using and enjoying this new singalong resource, with onscreen lyrics. Visit the HymnSing website to purchase the CD, DVD or digital pack. This would make a fantastic Christmas gift! A gift that keeps on giving We don't always get what we want at Christmas. But we can be sure that the gift God gives us at Christmas is exactly what we need. View Lutheran Media's Christmas video and share it with your family and friends, especially those who don't know about the gift of Jesus. Visit YouTube and Messages of Hope. Celebrating Christmas at home this year? Check out the LCA Christmas Lessons and Carols Service on YouTube or Spotify. You can watch or listen to the entire service, including songs, prayers and a blessing. For other resources related to this service, visit the Worship Planning Page. A great New Year resolution! LCA International Mission offers wonderful opportunities for volunteering, including: being your congregation's rep, collecting Stamps for Missions, cleaning our mission units, or hosting international guests. There's a volunteer job for everyone. ALWS Christmas Action ALWS must urgently find a way to get Lutheran-supported children in East Africa back to school as soon as COVID-19 allows. This Christmas, children facing crisis count on our kindness. Just $26 can support a refugee child in school for one year. LAST WEEK (20 DECEMBER) Share the story. Multiply the joy. Be an encourager.
